Job Description:
The .NET Architect, Indigo Digital is responsible for defining technology solutions engineered to meet the high-demands of one of Canada’s leading omni-channel e-Commerce providers. This role will require close collaboration with the Product Managers and business stakeholders to develop a robust roadmap to meet the needs of business and technology stakeholders from across the Indigo organization.
As a senior member of the Indigo Digital Team, .NET Architect will play a key role in delivering top-class technology solutions successfully to contribute to the continued growth of Indigo’s “Phygital” business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement prototypes, foundational code and establishes patterns which other members of the development team can follow throughout development
- Responsible for delivering technical requirements, defining features and phases for projects ranging from “large & strategic” to “internal maintenance”
- Work with Architecture Team in defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision across the IT organization
- Provide high-level sizing estimates of new development work
- Own comprehensive knowledge of inner-workings and integration points of current Indigo Digital systems
- Participate in capacity assessment and infrastructure planning
- Responsible for ensuring technical standards, extensibility, availability and performance are maintained through any enhancements or changes to Indigo Digital systems
- Teach, monitor and help improve effectiveness of implementation teams
- Work closely with Digital Product Owners and/or business partners to establish a plan for delivery of strategic initiatives
- Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the solution and exploration of solution alternatives
- Promote software development best practices/standards, and usage of emerging technologies
Job Requirements:
- Experience in integrating with systems outside .NET ecosystem
- Professional experience with queue-based technologies and systems
- Excellent knowledge of REST and RPC-based service design
- Passionate advocate of security best practices and micro-service architecture
- Excellent knowledge of .NET Core and .NET 4.5 (and higher), including WebAPI, MVC – knowledge of WCF is a plus, but not required
- 4+ years involvement with e-Commerce solutions or other high traffic/availability technologies
- Strong knowledge of MSSQL including database design, T-SQL, query optimization and MS SQL tools
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Proven ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems by using extensive analytical skills
- Minimum 10 years development experience with .NET and MS SQL Server stack
- A degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- High proficiency in designing and implementing systems in Azure
