Job Description:

This course is an interdisciplinary introduction to the historical and contemporary experiences of Indigenous peoples in Canada, with an emphasis on local lands and peoples. The course will explore Indigenous resilience, relationships with settlers and settler states, and principles and ethics of Indigenous Knowledge.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the course syllabus; delivering lectures online;
  • Leading class discussions of the lectures and readings;
  • Holding regularly scheduled office hours;
  • Preparing and evaluating course assignments, including final assessments and tests;
  • Attending unit meetings;
  • And submitting final marks in accordance with University procedures and dealines.

Job Requirements:

  • Masters degree and related teaching experience in the area of Indigenous Studies.
  • Undergraduate degree and related teaching experience in the area of Indigenous Studies is required.
  • Knowledge of historical and contemporary Indigenous issues required.
  • Experience and knowledge of Indigenous worldviews, knowledge systems/science, philosophies, traditions, values, theory, methodologies and languages is required.
