Job Description:

OISE Continuing & Professional Learning, a division of OISE Research International & Innovation, develops and delivers non-credit direct enrollment learning courses and programs concurrently with custom education solutions. The Associate Director, Professional Learning is responsible for overall strategy and planning of the OISE CPL direct enrollment solutions business stream, the development of business processes to align with existing resources, the identification of and development of new direct enrollment solutions serving educators across the sectors of PK-12, Post-Secondary, Workplace and Human Services, the successful planning and execution of exceptional learning experiences for educators nationally and internationally. The incumbent works closely with various members of OISE leadership team, the OISE CPL Associate Director Custom Learning & Innovation, and OISE CPL administrative team, as well as professional learning designers/developers, facilitators, OISE faculty, and subject matter experts to achieve these aims.

Job Responsibilities:

  • leads program review/evaluation cycle and establishes direct enrollment program development plan and design/development timelines and budget;
  • Leads program map/course outline design review and curriculum review committee protocols and reporting;
  • Identifies, pursues and optimizes new and existing relationships with accrediting bodies ensuring OISE CPL professional learning solutions meet the employability and licensing needs of educators;
  • Ensures learner policies and standard operating/administrative procedures are well executed, presented and communicated.
  • Strategic Development and Growth: Based on an in-depth knowledge and analysis of national and international market conditions, determines education sector markets where direct enrollment investment is likely to have maximum impact.
  • Is charged with achieving target revenues and margins for direct enrollment programs and services.
  • Professional Learning Solutions Development & Administration: Works with the Executive Director and Associate Director International & Innovation, OISE CPL administrative team and designers and facilitators to develop direct enrollment solutions that are financially viable and profitable;
  • Oversees the work of a large number of designers, facilitators, subject matter experts (SME’s) and contributors ensuring that direct enrollment solutions’ design and delivery meets the needs of the target audience (learner);
  • Ensures that learner needs and objectives (such as course fee, learning experience, appropriate learning platform/modality, content structure, and other elements that maximize learning benefits of learners) are incorporated into solutions design, delivery and sustainability;
  • Collaborates with CPL team members, facilitators and others in the management program/course design, delivery and sustainability;
  • Represents OISE and OISE CPL at professional learning events and conferences;
  • Establishes the standards and leads processes for effective recruitment, onboarding and ongoing professional development of professional learning designers and facilitators.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Suite, e-Learning authoring software (e.g. Captivate) and virtual classroom/conferencing (e.g. GoTo Meeting, Adobe Connect, SKYPE)
  • Experience with Continuing Education Registration/Enrollment Management Systems, LMS applications
  • Concrete industry knowledge; established relationships with professional organizations (associations, government, regulatory bodies)
  • Ability to 100% own initiatives. A motivated self-starter who can operate and execute with a sense of urgency, discipline and focus.
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field coupled with relevant certification and industry experience.
  • Experienced in learning solutions administration practices, such as competitive market research, customer needs analysis, and business case definition
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, managerial, and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to take initiative, manage time, problem solve, and manage strict confidentiality
  • Possesses an exceptional work ethic
  • Broad, general knowledge of the learning technology industry and an on-going awareness of software and related technology development and advancements
  • Learning Solutions Administration; design, development and implementation of online, on-campus and blended learning solutions for direct enrollment and contract learning solutions
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with budget management and reporting
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a positive attitude
  • Skillful and diplomatic relationship management; ability to ask the right questions, while understanding the larger business context of assignments
  • Minimum 8 years of progressively senior administrative experience within the education industry (e.g. k-12, post-secondary, workplace learning and development); international experience required.
  • Highly proficient presentation, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Confident coach and service mentor
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams; effective coaching and feedback skills
