The TD Direct Investing Engagement Manager (DIEM) is responsible for growing the business through understanding of the local market, executing on business tactics, and engaging clients directly to ensure a legendary customer experience is provided to new clients. The role will report to a National Engagement Manager.
This is a direct client-facing sales position for TD Direct Investing. Generate new business and manage the client relationship throughout the full sales cycle from prospecting, application and ongoing service. Responsible for the overall management of the client experience through direct client engagement and persistent follow-up to ensure delivery of a legendary client experience. Analyze and build relationships with clients to guide clients to the appropriate tools, products, services, and resources as part of a client’s overall financial plan. Accountable to acquire new prospects and external assets through deepening relationships with new clients to acquire additional accounts, consolidate new assets, and empower clients through education, goal planning and the broad spectrum of TD offerings. Increase client activity and/or revenue from existing Direct Investing clients through education, enabling them to be confident engaged investors. Engaging and empower clients to become confident self-directed investors resulting in increased trades, assets, revenue and accounts. Build awareness of products, offerings, and solutions that TD Direct Investing and TD Wealth. Meet/exceed individual acquisition goals of target client segments through proactive client engagement and rapport building to directly enable and empower clients. Ensure necessary due diligence is taken to support the accuracy of all transactions. Partner with other TD Partners for reciprocal referral opportunities and joint activities. Possess deep knowledge of TD Direct Investing’s Learning Centre and educational webinars and tools – to be able to direct clients to the right content to enable and empower. Communicate and promote the role of TD Direct Investing in referring potential new business to our TDCT Retail and Wealth, other TDBG partners. Compliance with Bank and IIROC codes of conduct and with securities laws and regulations.
Strong presentation and communication skills a must – in particular 1:1 client conversations and group settings for internal OneTD partnership meetings. Strong self-motivation, self-starter, time management, and organizational skills. Proven sales success and outbound call experience within TD or discount brokers. Deep knowledge of the Direct Investing, tools, education and platforms. Proficiency with TD processes; high level of comfort with the account opening and transfer-in procedures. CSC, CPH, 30-day IR Training program, and Derivative Fundamentals & Options Licensing Course (DFOL) are all required. Proven Relationship Management skills – ability to start, build, and maintain client relationships at every stage and partnerships with other businesses (TDBG, Wealth). Proven ability to identify business opportunities – able to build new business pipelines. Experience in coaching/educating clients in new business products.
