Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain internal departmental processes
  • Track, monitor, report and steward process safety metrics
  • Support Process Safety Engineers in preparing and conducting Process Hazard Analysis (PHA). This may include
  • Gather and review relevant process safety incidents and learnings
  • Work with Process Safety Engineers to support consistent and standardized approaches to operational discipline and conformance to the Process Safety standards and processes.
  • Support consequence analysis under guidance of P. Eng
  • Provide support during the PHA study sessions
  • Prepare Process Safety Information packages

Job Requirements:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant Facility in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Well-developed skills with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • Influential skills to drive collaboration across Suncor
  • The ability to prioritize work to meet deadline, and adapt to change easily
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Alignment with our values safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity and lifelong learning, and act with integrity
  • A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace
  • This is a twelve month work term starting in May 2022
  • Document management skills
  • Current enrolment in a 3rd year Engineering program, with a preference for Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, at an accredited post-secondary institution, and returning to full-time studies after the work term (attach your transcripts with your application)
