Job Description:

Maintaining a well-stocked store so that the customer shopping experience is quick, easy and efficient is the key to building loyalty. That is why our Variety Clerks play such an important role in the success of our stores. Full training is provided for this position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Stocking product to shelves
- Responsible for ordering and inventory control
- Completion of associated paperwork
- Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
- Ensure standards of department presentation and operations are met; including cleanliness, rotation, ordering and superior customer service
- Maintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs
- Ensure proper backroom procedures are being met
- Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
Job Requirements:
- Constant reaching, standing, walking, gripping
- Frequent hand coordination, bending, squatting
- Constant lifting of up to 5 pounds
- Available to work flexible hours
- Evening and weekend availability is strongly encouraged
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Possess strong Customer Service qualities
- Highly motivated and team oriented
- Ability to learn quickly
- Must be available to be scheduled anytime on Sunday (Alberta Only)
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
- Occasional lifting of between 5-50 pounds
- Works in a safe and responsible manner
- Occasional crouching, kneeling, twisting, climbing (step ladders, stairs)
