Job Description:
Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Financial Analyst, Operations to join our Finance team. This position has the option to be based out of our office in Stellarton, NS, Montreal, QC, Calgary, AB or Mississauga, ON.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in projects as assigned
- Adhere to GAAP and IFRS and CEO/CFO Certification
- Assist in forecasting, targeting and budgeting process
- Prepare/maintain analytical reports in various systems (SAP, Longview, BMR and BW) and communicate results
- Make suggestions to improve functional area processes
- Perform administrative tasks, as required
- Perform moderately complex analysis
- Work with cross-functional groups to identify opportunities to reduce costs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support evolving business needs and growth initiatives
- Analyze capital investment opportunities as required
Job Requirements:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Suite
- University degree in Business and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience or Diploma and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience
- Finance/IT experience in corporate operations an asset
- Enrolled in or completion of a professional accounting designation (CMA or CGA) considered an asset
- Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of SAP, Khalix and other ad-hoc systems would be an asset
- Previous experience working in a Retail environment considered an asset
