Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all activity is in the best interests of the company, prioritized by business value
  • Monitor and action NOC alarms for noise ingress/RF impairments, generate field incidents and coordinate with Field Operations
  • Accurately communicate all customer-impacting issues, in a timely manner, to appropriate local and national cross-functional teams, including management
  • Monitor dashboards for change tasks and action within specified window, create incident or change control if required to complete requested tasks
  • Document and maintain standards, procedures and support information
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices
  • Comply with problem, change, security and financial procedures
  • Work independently, and/or collaborate with BAT(Broadband Access Technologies) Network Analysts, vet noise and outage incidents, create field incidents and dispatch on-call plant technicians, take calls from technicians and other Operations teams. Proactive customer contact to resolve technical network connectivity issues as required
  • Coordinate hubsite escort requests, arrange escorted access with regional Network Techs, track travel and onsite times for accounting purposes
  • Manage expectations with team, management and clients, and deliver on them
  • DigShaw afterhours emergency support to action locate/dig requests, review fibre and HFC infrastructure maps to clear or dispatch locator(s) as required
  • Node provisioning support accountabilities including M52 change tasks – node additions, NCH change tasks – rename node, node Decommission change tasks – remove node, M51/M54 change tasks – analog node address rehome events, DAA change tasks – Distributed Access Architecture support with PHY nodes
  • Various other related duties as required

Qualification & Experience:

  • 2 years or more of direct experience with TCP/IP data networks; Cisco switches, routers and firewalls, including installation, configuration, tuning, administration and support would be an asset
  • Positive and energetic personality that contributes to team energy and cooperation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced customer-focused service environment
  • Competence in requirements analysis and communication
  • Must have the ability to work 24/7 including graveyard shifts, weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts of this position will primarily be overnight. Changes to these times may apply for coverage needs
  • Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines with multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn technology, business and industry skills
  • Degree/diploma in the Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience
  • A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity
