Job Description:

To independently undertake diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy exercising highly specialist and advanced clinical knowledge, skills and decision making to ensure high quality care for patients. Work collaboratively with the Endoscopy MDT, taking an active role in ensuring the service delivers the highest standard of clinical care and meets the requirements of the Endoscopy Joint Advisory Group (JAG).

Job Responsibilities:

Practice autonomously using specialist expert skills to deliver high quality patient care and experience, making clinical judgements to make diagnosis and using informed consent. Undertake biopsies and polypectomy to a more complex level, using diathermy where necessary and if appropriate. Undertake up to five endoscopy lists per week, working flexibly to assist in meeting waiting list targets, carrying out extra endoscopy lists to cover absence and assist in ensuring that capacity is maintained. Work flexibly between all NUH Endoscopy sites.

Participate in endoscopy pre-assessment and validation of patients due for surveillance in line with protocols. Please see attached Job Description for full details.

Job Requirements:

• Masters Level education or equivalent experience
• Independent Endoscopist
• Prevous experience of delivering a Trans Nasal Endoscopy Service
• Experience of participation in research
• Counselling Skills
