Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Security and Security Manager, the successful incumbent is expected to effectively maintain a safe and secure environment for all guests and associates by patrolling property, permitting entry, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment and access points, while maintaining the exceptional service standards expected in accordance with Marriott International Hotels Policies and Procedures

Job Responsibilities:

  • Defuse guest/employee disturbances.
  • Handle all interruptions and complaints.
  • Patrol all areas of the property.
  • Resolve safety hazard situations.
  • Call for assistance using proper code responses.
  • Notify appropriate individuals in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents.
  • Complete a Loss Prevention shift summary/daily activity report.
  • Conduct daily physical hazard inspections.
  • Conduct interviews and obtain written statements with regards investigations.
  • Assist guests/employees during emergency situations.
  • Respond to accidents, contact EMS or administer first aid/CPR as required.
  • Conduct various investigations relating to security, Health &safety, crime etc
  • Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm system, duress alarms, and fire life safety system.
  • Complete incident reports to document all Security/Loss Prevention related incidents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all Security/Loss Prevention and property reports/documents; release information only to authorized individuals.
  • Call for outside assistance if necessary.
  • Assist in effectively managing
  • Lock property entrances when required.
  • Report to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts.
  • Escort any unwelcome persons from the property without interrupting the orderly flow of property operation.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • PSIRA registered with Grade A.
  • Police Security background advantageous.
  • Computer literacy is essential with basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email) packages.
  • Clear Criminal record essential.
  • Matric.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Exposure to IR management and disciplinary processes advantageous
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience within the Security / Hospitality Industry.
  • Must be attentive to detail and strive to be accurate.
