Job Description:
As a Senior UX Product Designer, you’ll be a part of IKEA’s new US Digital Hub. You’ll use your skills in research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and visual communication to design frictionless digital experiences for our US eCommerce website. By helping our customers locate and purchase the best products to meet their needs, you will be the driving force behind how we serve the many people.
Job Responsibilities:
- Own and implement the design strategy and assist in design direction for a subset of products in the domain in order to deliver excellent and unique IKEA digital experiences across all touchpoints
- For a subset of products, provide input towards the business value of design drive and lead brainstorming, design sprints, human-centered design workshops along with other co-creative design methods to bring the UX and Design strategy to life, working with other teams within Ingka
- Implement and promote the Domain Product UX Design vision to key stakeholders up to Digital Product Management to create business-wide understanding, adoption, and advocacy
- Define Experience Design best practices by continually benchmarking against industry standards to continuously validate and improve deliverables
- Lead and develop a variety of Design deliverables included in the product design process to drive the direction of a subset of products within the domain
- Coordinate design work priorities with Product Owner(s), tech, and data team members working within the prioritized roadmap to provide input to future roadmaps
- Provide design mentorship to assist in the development of product UX designers and ensure deliverables
- Lead and execute various iterative user research methodologies, identifying user needs and leading support from the Centre of Expertise (CoE) in order to cultivate a deep understanding of our users
Job Requirements:
- Experience in designing digital customer experiences
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a UX/UI, Web Designer or equivalent roles
- Formal qualifications in related field (e.g. Bachelor’s Degree) or equivalent
- Proven ability to help lead and mentor a team of other designers including; facilitation, guide design & thinking sessions
- Past history of presenting to executives
- Experience in working as part of an Agile team and data driven environment
