Job Description:

As a Software Engineering Manager for IKEA’s innovative Digital Shopping Experience, you will have the rewarding opportunity to lead and contribute to high-performing engineering teams, evolving strategic solutions to support the IKEA US digital experience. The IKEA Customer Domain works to improve the digital shopping experience, ensuring customers can easily find what they need online and in-store. In addition, we are creating a foundation for a future-proofed checkout experience across all channels and providing home furnishing help for customers throughout the IKEA shopping journey.

Job Responsibilities:

• Have strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Be a flexible, strategic thinker who can pivot and try new approaches when facing challenges.
• Act as a senior member of the broader technology organization, expected to represent internally within IKEA and externally in the market.
• Act as a role model to attract new talent and support the continual development of the team.
• Lead and motivate a large team of engineers through technical direction and people skills, including internal and external (contractors and 3rd party vendors) colleagues.
• Critically think to make decisions and solve problems.

Job Requirements:

• Strong documented leadership skills
• You are curious and passionate about constantly learning new things, solving challenging problems, and working in a diverse team environment.
• Proven advanced training in computer science or any engineering equivalent
• You are an advocate for CI/CD best practices.
• Demonstrable experience in working in an Agile and DevOps working set-up

Qualification & Experience:

• You have 5+ years of experience leading technology transformation from outsourced landscape to internally built products, services, and integrations into scaled platforms.
• You have 5+ years of real-world experience building and growing engineering teams and culture, balancing direction setting and autonomy.
• You have experience with Cloud Platforms like Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services.
• Experience of working in agile/iterative software development teams, with an emphasis on self-organization and delivery to agreed commitments
