Job Description: As the engineer you will be responsible for working effectively in a team environment within the UK and the larger European Road Network team. In addition to being able to perform the basic engineering duties you will need to have excellent communication skills to be able to implement the initiatives of the team and the organization. Technology enhancements will also be important as we roll out new systems to enhance our service proposition. The Engineer will also be asked to learn how the UK Road Network works and how it interacts with the European Network and then use that knowledge to drive further efficiencies in the network. Job Responsibilities: The Engineer will need to be comfortable working in a team environment, remotely or in person, to further the goals of the team. Each member of the team has expertise in key areas and will be asked to help in many different situations or will request others to help them in what they are working on at the time. Technical Expertise The Engineer will need to have advanced skills and is able to work with large dataset and potentially has (limited) programming skills. MS Office products – particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint – and be able to utilize those tools to create actionable files to further the goals of the team. Must also be comfortable in exploring and implementing new technologies as they are developed. Ability to plan to work and manage multiple projects at a time. The dynamic environment in which we work will challenge the Engineer to be able to work on different subjects at simultaneously and to maintain key target dates of delivery. Job holder has (advanced) data management and network optimisation skills. Ability to parse through the data to help drive change in the network. Be able to analyse that data, understand what it says and create meaningful insights, and then be able to communicate that in an effective way to further enhance our network.
