Job Description:

This position is a mechanical engineering technical position for fixed equipment in support of an oil refinery. This position provides technical support to the refining site with a focus on troubleshooting, asset improvement, and technology selection. This position is located at the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Complex in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate and accept personal accountability for quality of work

• Effectively use written and verbal communications to drive desired results
• Set high standards for safety, integrity, and operational excellence
• Support capital projects and minor modifications in the areas of design consulting, technical quality assurance, and start-up assistance
• Communicate and interact daily with Inspection, Maintenance, Process, and Operations team members
• Drive information and drawing improvements
• Analyze site fixed equipment performance
• Drive highly productive and mutually beneficial relationships with business partners, suppliers & peers
• Aggressively and constructively pursue improvement
• Continually improve functional knowledge & critical working skills
• Drive site asset improvement in the areas of: Safety, Reliability, Environmental Performance and Equipment Capability and Efficiency in a team setting

Job Requirements:

• Petrochemical or other heavy industry experience strongly desired
• Must be highly proactive
• Prefer a candidate with prior professional experience (including internships and co-ops) within an operating company, major engineering contractor or vendor
• Required B.S. (or higher) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
