Job Responsibilities:

Methodist Hospital, a member of Dignity Health, is currently looking for a Food Service Worker. The Food Service Worker performs a variety of tasks in the kitchen and cafeteria including: delivering patient nourishments and floor stock to nursing departments, doctors lounge and surgery; stocking patient cold food cart; working patient tray line; delivering patient meals to patient rooms; picking up soiled trays; washing all patient, cafeteria, and catering dishes and utensils; stocking cafeteria dishes and utensils; performing general sanitation duties; putting away groceries, paper supplies, cleaning agents, and frozen foods. Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all kitchen areas. The Food Service Worker may have access to third party credit card information and transactional systems (cash registers, point of sale devices, applications supporting credit card transactions, and reports or other documents containing credit card information) from single transactions or a single card at a time.

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrated knowledge of general therapeutic diets, proper food handling techniques, proper operation of food service dishwashing equipment, proper food service sanitation techniques and proper techniques of storing, preparing, holding and service of perishable meats, dairy products, fresh produce and frozen foods

Qualification & Experience:

• Prior experience with food preparation, proper food handling procedures, and sanitation techniques is preferred
