Job Description:
Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) works collaboratively with the provincial, territorial and Bermudian CPA bodies, as it represents the Canadian accounting profession, both nationally and internationally. Job Responsibilities:
- Developing, maintaining and improving high-quality professional learning and development offerings for a variety of topics within the
- Performance Management and Sustainability portfolio, which consists of issues for members in the Business industry
- Work closely with other senior staff in MDS, other CPA Canada departments and Provincial Accounting Bodies to ensure appropriate research is conducted and monitor the continuing professional development needs of members/customers working in the accounting functions in their businesses
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional operating groups across CPA Canada
- Developing partnerships with other stakeholders who have complementary interests within the product portfolio
- Spearhead different Advisory Groups focused on the development and delivery of quality programming for CPAs. This responsibility will also include engaging with conference advisory boards
- Host and moderate online training events
- Gain a deep understanding of a range of strategy, risk and performance topic areas and become a subject matter resource in a selected number of those, to support business members across Canada
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience working in an Accounting, Finance or Operations related function
- CPA designation
- Highly developed business acumen
- Highly proactive and innovative
- Strong project management, analytical and technical skills
- Solid judgment and problem solving
- Exceptional and well-honed interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
- Team player with the ability to work with multiple internal groups and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Keen interest and awareness of recent and emerging trends in the profession
- Ability to manage multiple large projects/products
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and overall entrepreneurial mindset/approach in dealing with challenges and problems
- Experience in adult education, including the development of educational programs, is preferable
- Experience with voluntary reporting frameworks is considered an asset
- Knowledge of public markets, including ESG investing, is considered an asset
