Job Description:
Corporations and Corporate Governance Enforcement (CCG) investigates suspected misconduct by corporate and financial gatekeepers such as directors, company officers, liquidators and auditors. CCG takes formal enforcement action in response to a range of failings including poor corporate governance, corporate fraud, related party transactions, continuous disclosure breaches, false and misleading statements, take-over breaches, insolvent trading and illegal phoenix activity.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Investigator, you will be required to:
- scope, plan and set the strategic direction of complex investigations
- identify breaches of the law
- project manage investigation teams, mentor staff and monitor the delivery of tasks
- assist in the commencement of civil litigation in the Supreme and Federal Courts, including briefing and instructing counsel and where
- appropriate recovering costs of litigation
- compile briefs of evidence for the CDPP and assist the CDPP to prepare for and conduct criminal prosecutions
- compile administrative briefs to ASIC delegates and represent ASIC at delegates hearings
- provide written and oral briefings to Senior Executives, Executive Directors and Commissioners
Qualification & Experience:
We are looking for people with an inquisitive and analytical mind set who are comfortable working with complex information in a changing environment. You will enjoy having accountability for strategically planning and leading investigations and working with a team to meet time sensitive deadlines.
To be considered for this role, you will hold tertiary qualifications in law, accounting, finance or similar, and have significant experience assisting with complex investigations and/or litigation. You will demonstrate an ability to prioritise work and be an articulate communicator with exceptional written skills. You will also be adept in analysing and working with large volumes of digital information.
Relevant experience from a regulatory environment, law enforcement, criminal law or corporate/ commercial law will also be highly regarded. However, we value a diverse range of experience and encourage candidates who are interested in transferring their skillset to ASIC to apply.
