Job Description:
We are looking for a thought leader and strategic thinker, who is innovative, pragmatic, credible and able to influence right up to Board level, challenging the status quo, but resilient in the face of adversity.
A candidate with a strong external, as well as an internal focus, ensuring we have effective mechanisms in place to understand the emerging issues, risks, and trends in talent management, in order that the Talent CoE can be most effective, responding to, and supporting with, relevant interventions, programmes and tools.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure that our talent strategy and activity always supports the overarching aims of our EDI ambitions
- Ensure that the talent strategy for the Company remains relevant and appropriate for the changing market we operate in and the evolving world of work
- Prioritise the macro level themes emerging from the corporate talent review and build and execute strategies and plans (often in conjunction with other CoEs such as Reward and Leadership Development) to deliver the progress in these critical areas (for example specialist progression, grading structure, diverse talent pools etc)
- Continue to evaluate engagement with our performance approach across the Group and seek new ways to develop insight into performance, as well as approaches to embed behavioural and cultural change. Maximise opportunities to promote performance and development conversations across the business
- Lead ongoing research into creation of high performance, high feedback culture, trends, and approaches in order to inform how we continue to drive performance internally
- Work with the Director of Group HR to provide insight into the senior talent pipeline for both Operating and Plc Board, with a particular emphasis on diversity and inclusion
- Managing 3 Talent Managers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of the talent and performance strategy including continued professional development
Job Requirements:
- Excellent relationship management with colleagues and teams at all levels
- Working in an innovative and conceptual capacity, designing new ways of operating
- Strong attention to detail, not averse to switching between high level scoping and checking effectiveness, accuracy and alignment of team outputs and engagement.
- Previous experience in talent management with a deep understanding of relevant best practice, models, and theories
- Strategic thinking and robust planning, organising self and co-ordinating others across a broad timeframe
- Influencing multiple stakeholders through applying clear technical knowledge and rationale, as well as providing both high challenge and support
- Understand complex subjects and translating them into simple plans and approaches
- Strong data analytical skills demonstrating appropriate rigour
- Demonstrates skills of the highest standards in both written and verbal communication to understand and simply explain complex processes and strategies to senior stakeholders
