Job Description:

The Patient Care Manager has accountability for the Pediatric ambulatory and inpatient care for Oncology/Hematology/Immunology and Palliative Care areas and reports to the Executive Director for Ambulatory and Inpatient programs at Stollery Children’s Hospital. Patient Family Centered care should be the hallmark of programmation. The incumbent is responsible for participating in strategic planning; identifying and managing budget requirements (human, material and capital resources) as it relates to current and forecasted revenues and expenditures; establishing, maintaining and enabling leading standards of practice; hiring and evaluating performance of professional and ancillary staff; enabling conditions for staff motivation, development and succession planning; creating and sustaining healthy work and patient care environments where safety is prioritized; maintaining collaborative working relationships while facilitating a safe interactive environment for creative discussion around varying perspectives for transformative opportunities. These Opportunities should aim to optimally adapt and change structures and processes in order to accomplish improvements with value of services, patient satisfaction, quality of care and system sustainability.

Job Requirements:

  • BScN required. Master’s degree preferred in a business or health related field Minimum five years of acute care bedside experience preferred.
  • Pediatric Oncology experience preferred Minimum of three years in management or leadership role in the health care sector.
  • Current registration with appropriate licensing body is required. Research experience, PMP certification (or the like), and PI certification are considered valuable assets.
