Job Description:

The Care Manager Seniors Health is responsible and accountable for making front line unit level decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of the goals of Seniors Health in a person-centered care environment. They ensure services provided support the overall AHS vision; provides leadership through effective communication, ethical decision make in, and commitment to achieving established goals and objectives while measuring and monitoring outcome and standards; contributes to the formulation of policies, developing programs and or administering; plans, implements and coordinates staff schedules and master rotations; authorizes staff time away from work; plans work activities for staff and to take independent action in controlling the quality of work; fosters high quality workplace with strong commitment to quality , process improvement and person centered care; identifies improvement opportunities and determines implementation strategies for initiates.on in this field.

  • Temporary accommodations and relocation may be considered Reporting to the Area Manager, the Care Manager Seniors Health performs a leadership role in Seniors Health.
  • The Care Manager is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, team leadership and organization over the activities of Seniors Health within the specific area in support of the vision, mission and business plan of AHS. The responsibilities include Homecare, LTC, DSL and Transition Bed unit.
  • This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

  • Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and other partners.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing .
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) ( preferred) 3-5 years in a health care provider role and a minimum of 1 year working in a leadership capacity. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
