Job Description:

In this rewarding role you will lead the Industrial Engineering function and have functional and disciplinary leadership of a team of circa 10-15 people to ensure safe working methods, times, jigs and fixtures, maintenance of equipment and facility, project management, change management and digitalisation are delivered for the Goole operation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Budget responsibility for own area including leadership on CAPEX and maintenance spend
  • Manage the manufacturing function in Goole, ensuring close engagement with our colleagues win Vienna
  • Planning and allocation of suitably qualified technical resources to meet current and future operational requirements
  • Provide management information on CAPEX, maintenance downtime/plans, change management
  • Ensure the team are productive and always deliver quality outputs
  • Identify and implement productivity enhancements
  • Manage escalations when required through applicable channels, either locally with Goole Management team or with appropriate counterparts in other facilities
  • Single point of contact for facilities management, forming strong relationships with the various facilities management provider(s)
  • Manage team safely with particular focus on wellbeing and safe behaviours
  • Design, plan and implement a safe and productive TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) system and that maintenance teams, whether internal or external, follow all required safety and quality processes to maintain equipment and availability for the plant
  • Contribute to Goole future strategic plans through creation and ownership of Industrial Engineering strategy in line with overarching Goole, UK
  • Customer Services Rolling Stock, UK Rolling Stock and UK Manufacturing for all rolling stock business segments that align with Goole production

Job Requirements:

  • Collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial engineering, manufacturing equipment maintenance, techniques / processes relating to manufacturing of rail vehicles
  • Good knowledge of IT systems/software
  • Ability to understand and implement new methods and processes relating to area of responsibility
  • People Management experience
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills written and oral
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
